As at December 2002, 1897 Middle level Insurance personnel have been trained. They have come from the member countries as well from Kenya, Uganda Zimbabwe and Sudan….( check the Alumni page)

A follow-up on past students revealed that they are contributing enormously to the development of insurance in the sub-region. Some Alumni are now Chief Executives of Insurance Companies and Brokers.

In the Gambia 5 out of the first six insurance Companies are headed by WAII Alumni. In Sierra Leone 2 out of the first three Insurance Companies are headed by WAII Alumni. In Liberia most of the Insurance Companies are headed by WAII Alumni. In Ghana 3 out of the first Insurance Companies are WAII Alumni. In Nigeria over 25 Chief Executives are WAII Alumni. 5 WAII Alumni are serving on the Governing Council and 4 are serving on the Academic Board.

The current Vice-Chairman of the Governing Council is a WAII Alumni.
